Kent Police arrested three people after a man was allegedly seen brandishing a gun on a quiet estate in Ashford.
Armed officers descended on an address in Eastry Close, and initially arrested a 39-year-old man on suspicion of possessing a firearm.
Following enquiries at the scene, a 54-year old man and a 41-year-old woman, both from Ashford, were then arrested on suspicion of possessing prohibited weapons.
They have all been released on police bail until Monday, December 19 pending further enquiries.
Officers are treating this incident as isolated.
One eyewitness told Kent Online how the firearms officers cordoned off the area at 6am and remained in a stand-off until 10.30am.
She said: “People couldn’t get in or out of the road to go to work or to school because they told us it was dangerous. I saw people having to get armed escorts to get in or out.
“They had all their guns trained at an address. It was quite scary because this is normally a quiet road.”
