A religious campaigner has been found following a police appeal.

Christopher Cooper, from Ashford, is believed to have turned up in Somerset yesterday afternoon.

Officers were concerned about the welfare of the 41-year-old, who is known for his campaigns regarding St Mary's Church in the town centre.

He spoke to KentOnline after a successful petition to church authorities saw an art trail sculpture removed from the church's grounds.

In 2009, he headed a campaign against the removal of pews when the place of worship became a shared-use arts venue.
