A badger had to be rescued after getting his bum stuck in a fence.

The brawny brock had to be retrieved by the RSPCA after an Ashford resident found him stranded in their garden.

Rather than sitting on the fence about his decision, the male was intent on forcing himself through it, possibly in the hunt for food.

However, he got a bum deal after his behind left him stranded between two of the panels of the fence.

Thankfully, the poor animal didn't seem to be injured in hte unusual incident in Godinton on Thursday November 12.

RSPCA Chief Inspector Mark Miles said: "This poor badger was completely jammed in that fence and going nowhere!

“It looks as if he was trying to get from one garden to the next via the hole in the fence, but had misjudged the width of his backside.

"It looks as if he... had misjudged the width of his backside"

“He’d got himself into a position where his front-end and legs were off the ground, so he didn’t have any traction to pull himself out.

"He hadn’t sustained any injuries from his ordeal, so it was a simple job to widen the hole.

"He shot off straight away and is hopefully now back in his sett with his family.”
