A teenage moped rider was taken to hospital this morning after a crash with a car in Ashford.

The youngster was taken the William Harvey Hospital with a broken leg and a suspected fracture to his wrist.

The driver of the silver Ford was not injured.

Police and ambulances were called to the scene of the crash, between Magazine Road and the A20 Simone Weil Avenue, just after 8am.

Police closed Canterbury Road in both directions, while paramedics from South East Coast Ambulance Service were spotted treating the rider.
