Brucie draws the crowds to book shop opening

THE price was right for scores of fans who turned up to see Bruce Forsyth open the new Hammicks Bookshop in County Square at Ashford. There was no shortage of buyers for his 400-page book, entitled Bruce: The Autobiography, which was on special offer at the event.

The veteran entertainer satisfied all those who wanted an autographed message inside his book. First in line was Nicola Anderson, 31, from Alfred Road, Newtown, who had waited more than two hours with her son, Thomas.

It proved to be a time to strike up a friendship with another fan Michelle Finniss, 22, from Bank Street, Ashford, who works at the Rainbow Nursery in Hythe Road, and was equally keen to meet the star.
