Ashford woman one of four arrested & bailed on suspicion of burglary after suspected stolen car from Sevenoaks crashed in Brookfield Road police chase

An Audi that smashed into a tree following a police chase in Ashford is alleged to have been stolen from Sevenoaks.

Four people arrested on suspicion of burglary after the crash - which also saw a police car hit a lamppost - have been confirmed as a 44-year-old woman from Ashford and three men, aged 23, 30 and 34, all from London.

All four have been bailed until Tuesday, January 13.

Police revealed today that officers believe the white Audi was stolen during a burglary in Sevenoaks.

The woman and one of the men were taken to the William Harvey Hospital with minor injuries.

The officer driving the police car suffered minor head injuries but a spokesman said today he has recovered.

The crash happened close to the Matalan roundabout where the A28 meets the B2229 Brookfield Road at about 3.50pm on Tuesday, November 4.

Nine police cars rushed to the scene and the air ambulance landed but was not needed.

The air ambulance was called after a police car collided with a lampost in Ashford, which happened before the most recent figures

The road was closed for five hours causing gridlock around Ashford during the evening rush hour.
