A burning 4x4 forced the closure of a stretch of motorway.
The coastbound M20 between Junction 8 for Leeds Castle and Junction 9 for Ashford was shut as emergency services battled to extinguish a burning Range Rover.
Two fire engines were sent to the scene of the blaze, which started at about 2pm near the exit at Junction 9.
Grass was also been set alight by the fire.
A police spokeswoman said: "Kent Police was called to a report of a car alight just after 2pm on Friday 19 July 2019.
"Officers attended the scene on the coastbound carriageway of the M20 near Junction 9 to assist the Kent Fire and Rescue Service.
"The road was clear by around 3.20pm."
