Motorists faced delays after a car overturned on a major route close to the M20.

The incident happened on the A20 Fougeres Way in Ashford yesterday afternoon.

Police were called to the route just after 3.30pm.

“Officers and paramedics attended the scene where a woman received medical attention while arrangements were made to recover the vehicle,” a spokesperson for the force said.

“Highways officers also attended due to damage to a traffic light.”

Drivers heading towards the town centre from the M20 were subsequently caught up in long queues.
