One lane was closed after a car came off the motorway and went up an embankment on the M20.

The incident, involving a brown Vauxhall, happened on the M20 coastbound near Hothfield just before 1pm.

The inside lane was shut while emergency services attended the scene to recover the vehicle.

A police spokesman said: "We were called to an incident at 12.54pm involving a car on the M20.

"Officers are at the scene between junction 8 and 9 coastbound along with Kent Fire and Rescue Service and the South East Coast Ambulance Service following a report of injuries.

"The carriageways remain open."
