A card shop is now filled with discounted WHSmith items.
There have long been rumours that Ashford's branch of Cardmarket - a brand announced by the national stationer in 2014 - in County Square Shopping Centre could be closing next year.
Signage has now appeared declaring it a "WHSmith Clearance Shop", and has been filled with surplus products overnight.
Bargains include a David Cameron biography, on sale for £1, and a Game of Thrones colouring book reduced from £11.99 RRP to a fiver.
Also on offer is a range of stationery and notepads, with a set of 12 Sharpies costing £5.
WHSmith, which also owns FunkyPigeon.com, announced last October that it would be closing 24 Cardmarket stores.
Maidstone's Cardmarket branch in The Mall is within the proposed footprint for a food court, suggesting it could also be closing.
It is not yet known whether the stationery supplier will take over the County Square unit for good, or if it will be giving up the unit's lease.
WHSmith has been approached for comment.
