CCTV appeal over assault on young woman

Police have issued a CCTV picture of a man they wish to speak to in connection with an assault on a young woman.

The 20-year-old was grabbed as she walked along Ashford’s Simone Weil Avenue from Sainsbury’s.

She was approached by a man who engaged her in conversation and then grabbed her hand. She pulled her hand away, asking him to stop.

He continued to walk with her to the top of Simone Weil Avenue and then walked off in the opposite direction.

The incident happened at 6.15pm on Monday, January 26.

Police are looking for a man described as having tanned skin, taut skin on his face and speaking in a foreign accent.

He was said to be 5ft 11in and wearing a green beanie hat.
