Crews from Ashford and Lenham tackle chimney fire at Elvey Farm, in Pluckley

A chimney fire left around 20 people standing out in the cold on Christmas night.

The guest house at Elvey Farm, in Pluckley, was evacuated after a fire broke out in a chimney.

Fire crews from Ashford and Lenham attended the incident at 6.05pm last night.

They said a blaze had started in the chimney but not other part of the B&B was damaged.

The guests and staff waited outside while the fire officers extinguished the flames.

No one was reported as injured.
