Crash on Ashford's Simone Weil Avenue A20 closed road and one man taken to hospital

A man in his 60s was taken to hospital after he fell from an electric bike following a collision with a car.

The accident happened just outside the entrance to Sainsbury's Bybrook in Simone Weil Avenue.

The busy road was shut in one direction as emergency services dealt with the aftermath of the crash.

Police cordoned off the road and the air ambulance landed but the man was taken to hospital by road ambulance.

A police spokesman said: "Kent Police was called at 9.22am following a collision in Simone Weil Avenue, Ashford.

"Two vehicles were involved and one man has been taken to hospital by road ambulance."

The road has been reopened

The road was reopened by 10.15am.
