An Ashford teenager has been slapped with a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) after carrying out a wave of anti-social acts around the town.

Reece Jefferies, 19, is banned from Ashford Designer Outlet and the nearby Asda supermarket following a number of offences.

Appearing at Folkestone Magistrates Court, the teenager pleaded guilty to two counts of theft and one of criminal damage.

He was already subject to a community order, which has now been extended, and ordered to pay court costs and compensation.

As part of the prosecution, police applied to the CPS for the CBO, which has been granted to last until February 22, 2019.

Jefferies is only allowed to enter Ashford International railway station if travelling with a valid ticket.

He is banned completely from entering the Ashford Designer Outlet and Asda supermarket, and is "not to act in an anti-social manner" in Ashford.

If he breaches the conditions, police officers can arrest him and he could face a prison sentence of up to five years.

Inspector Andy Bidmead said: "These orders will only be sought when somebody is consistently disorderly or acts anti-socially in a public place.

"Jefferies has caused issues for some time acting in an unacceptable manner to members of the public, and the court has approved this measure to allow the residents and businesses of Ashford some measure of respite.

"Officers will not hesitate to arrest him should he fail to comply.

"We are committed to working with our partner agencies including Ashford Borough Council to help make Ashford a safer place in which to work, live and visit."
