Cyclist dies after crash in Maytham Road, Rolvenden, near Ashford

A cyclist has died after reportedly colliding with the door of a stationary car.

The crash happened in Maytham Road, Rolvenden, near Ashford on Sunday, March 24.

At 12.40pm, a 65-year-old man is said to have sustained an injury after the bicycle he was riding collided with the door of a stationary blue Ford car.

He was taken to a London hospital, where he died four days later.

Police are now appealing for witnesses to the incident.

A spokesman for the force said: “The incident is now under investigation by the Serious Collision Investigation Unit and officers are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

“Anyone who might have CCTV or dashcam footage should also call the witness appeal line on 01622 798538 or email sciu.td@kent.police.uk quoting HM/032/24.”
