The county’s first walk-in support centre for carers has been
opened in Ashford.

Independent charity Carers’ Support offers help for carers of
any age in the Ashford and Shepway area.

Their new centre at Norman House, on Beaver Business Park,
Beaver Road, is a place where carers can go for respite, emotional
help, information and training.

The centre was opened by Deputy Lieutenant of Kent Jane Loudon
who unveiled a plaque commemorating the occasion.

Also at the opening was the vice-president of the Princess Royal
Trust for Carers, Pam Ferris, best known for her role as Ma Larkin
in the hit television series the Darling Buds of May.
