A date has finally been set to discuss Lydd Airport's expansion.
After a false start earlier this year a full meeting of Shepway District Council will discuss two planning applications on Thursday, July 9.
Those applications are for a new terminal building and a runway extension.
It will take place at the Civic Centre, Castle Hill Avenue, Folkestone, starting at 7pm.
A webcast of the meeting will be broadcast live and it is hoped to have a screen set up at a Marsh location, yet to be confirmed.
While all parties are known to be pleased that the application is proceeding - it was first put in five years ago - it is also thought likely that this is another step, rather than the final reckoning.
Louise Barton of the Lydd Airport Action Group said: "If they [SDC] say yes, it will go to a public inquiry and if they say no it will go to appeal... but it starts now."
