Rail passengers are experiencing delays as urgent repairs are carried out on part of the track.

Kent-bound services between London and Ashford have been disrupted this afternoon as there is electrical arc damage to the line at Headcorn.

Network Rail says the issue is on the coastbound route not far outside Ashford and as a result, trains cannot run on it.

Teams are working to get it fixed as soon as possible.

All trains travelling to London are unaffected by the problem but buses have been organised to operate between Ashford and Tonbridge.

Some services have also been diverted via Maidstone East and there is a reduced service in both directions between Ashford and Tonbridge.
