Firefighters have issued a warning about discarding cigarettes properly after they were called to a blaze in a field.
Crews believe the grass fire in Westwell Lane was probably caused by a discarded cigarette.
One engine was sent to the scene around 7pm yesterday.
The team spent about 20 minutes tackling the fire, which was across about 100sq metres of grass.
A spokesman for the service said smokers must take care in disposing of their cigarettes responsibly.
