Police and paramedics were called to the scene on the A2042 Ave Jacques Faucheux at around 1.10am this morning.

The crash involved a silver Suzuki Alto and a black Mercedes E220D. The Suzuki driver was airlifted to a London hospital with life threatening injuries. He remains in a critical condition.

The vehicles were travelling in the same direction towards the roundabout junction with Norman Road prior to the collision.

After the crash, the road was closed for several hours and has now reopened.

Traffic built up in the area because of the closure, with queues stretching to the roundabout for the A2070 Bad Munstereifel road.
