A Kent woman last seen at the Notting Hill Carnival has been found in hospital.

Patricia Araujo, from Ashford, travelled to London at the weekend to enjoy the festivities but last contacted relatives on Sunday morning.

Her loved ones said the 26-year-old’s disappearance was “very out of character” and pleaded for her to make contact. They feared she may have been kidnapped.

Patricia’s aunt Claudia Sousa previously told KentOnline: “So many days have passed by that we’re thinking about if she has been kidnapped.

“So many bad things happen at the carnival.

“We hope she has met somebody at the carnival – as she thinks everyone is really nice – and is partying with them or at their house.

“But after so many days, you think maybe something else has happened and we don’t know about it.”

Patricia’s phone was discovered on the floor by a DJ who contacted her family on Tuesday.

Ms Sousa added: “She was alone at the carnival.

“We posted a TikTok to say she was missing and a girl who was there on Sunday sent us a video and picture of Patricia.

“The same girl saw her on Monday at 5pm but without a jacket.

“This is very out of character as she has never gone missing before.

“She is usually in contact with her cousin all the time, almost daily.”

Patricia, who moved to the UK six years ago, has failed to turn up for work this week at Travelodge in Ashford, causing huge concern for her colleagues.

There has been a large social media appeal to help track down Patricia, with her family asking people to get in contact if they have any information.

Kent Police said officers were liaising with the Metropolitan Police as part of inquiries to locate her.

On Friday evening, a Kent Police spokesman said she had been “safely located”.

Claudia has told The Sun that Patricia had been admitted to Surrey County Hospital in Guildford after being spotted by a member of the public.

She said: “We have just been told Patricia has been located and she is in hospital.

“We would like to thank everyone for their concern and for helping us by responding to the appeals we’ve made.”
