Fire crews tackled a car ablaze in a public car park in Beaver Road, South Ashford

Fire crews tackled a suspicious car fire in South Ashford last night.

The blaze is believed to have been started deliberately and police were alerted to the incident.

The red Chrysler Talbot was parked in a public car park in Beaver Road and firefighters quickly stopped the flames spreading to vehicles parked nearby.

The car’s bumper had also been damaged and a window had been smashed.

No one was hurt in the incident and police confirmed they are investigating.
