Fire crews were called to Godinton Lane last night to tackle a car fire.

Two people had been travelling in the Vauxhall Zafira around 10pm when a suspected electrical fault caused it to catch fire.

One pump was sent to the scene in Hothfield where firefighters spent around an hour extinguishing the blaze.

Luckily, the pair managed to escape the vehicle moments before it went up in flames and no one was hurt.
