Neil Cugley has described the change in Folkestone Invicta’s fortunes since Christmas as incredible.
The Cheriton Road boss prepares for the Ryman League Division 1 South double-header against Whitstable and neighbours Hythe, with his side fifth and firmly in play-off contention.
Invicta were 10th at Christmas but only one defeat in 14 games has totally changed the complexion of their season.
They go to Whitstable on Saturday before the much-anticipated second local derby of the season against Hythe, having lost 2-1 at Reachfields on Boxing Day.
Cugley (pictured) said: "We have been in good form since the start of the year and Dulwich were the only team who have been better than us.
"The whole thing has been amazing and incredible because when we lost at Hythe, we didn’t know where the club was going on and off the field.
"We had to sell Stuart King but I feel we have a stronger squad now – certainly in depth – than we had before.
"The players have generated a great team spirit in the dressing room and it’s nice when a new player like Matt Newman comes in and says he has been impressed with the club, the training and how we do things here."
Invicta hope for a four-figure gate when Scott Porter’s side visit on Monday, another boost for the club’s improving financial situation.
Newman should return at the weekend, after recovering from a twisted ankle.
