Car stolen from Speldhurst Close, Stanhope, Ashford

Police have charged four suspects after a high-speed chase when a car was taken from someone's driveway.

The Citroen Picasso was taken from Speldhurst Close in Stanhope in Ashford at 7.30am on Sunday, January 7.

An hour later the car crashed into a roundabout at the A229 at Rochester following a pursuit by police.

Officers charged 21-year-old Rudi Little of Hythe Road in Willesborough with aggravated vehicle taking and burglary. He was bailed to appear before magistrates on Wednesday, February 7.

They also charged 18-year-old Charlie Leeming, of Beaver Lane in South Ashford with the same offences. He was bailed to appear before magistrates on Wednesday, January 31.

Meanwhile a 16-year-old was charged with driving while disqualified, aggravated vehicle taking, burglary, and breaching a criminal behaviour order. He was bailed and due to appear before Medway magistrates on Monday, January 8.

A second 16-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of burglary and aggravated vehicle taking. He was released pending further investigation.
