A kitten, believed to be from Ashford, has found its way to Hythe in Hampshire after hitching a ride in a work van.

The young cat was found when it jumped out of a van that had travelled more than 136 miles from Ashford.

Workmen handed the kitten to Seadown Veterinary Group who are now trying to trace it owners.

This cat is believed to be from Ashford

The van had been working on the roadworks on the A20, near Smeeth at the Coopers Lane junction, which was the last place it had stopped before heading back to Hampshire.

The kitten is safe but the vets are desperately trying to trace his owners.

If anyone has any information contact Seadown Veterinary Group here.
