Charity volunteers have been left heartbroken after thieves stole thousands of pounds worth of baby clothing bound for desperate children in the run up to Christmas.

The heartless thieves ransacked the Rockin’ Baby storage unit at the Willesborough Industrial Park in Ashford last night.

After bursting through the door they stole baby and children’s clothes and blankets worth up to £10,000.

He said: “It was truly heartbreaking to arrive here this morning and we are still coming to terms with what has happened.

“December is meant to be a time of giving, yet these people have stolen from a business that only aims to help others in need, it’s disgusting.”

Rockin’ Baby operates in 30 countries worldwide, and volunteers had only recently returned from supporting babies and children in Uganda, many of whom had been orphaned by the Ebola crisis.

The company operates a charity giving brand, where for every item they sell, an identical item is also gifted to a youngster in desperate circumstances.

The thieves are believed to have entered the warehouse, off Kennington Road in Willesborough, between 9pm last night and 6am this morning.

They have asked for any witnesses in the area or anyone who is approached by non-reputable retailers offering Rockin’ Baby items to call the police on 101 and quote reference number 030324.
