New signing Nick Reeves is set to make his debut for Hythe Town this weekend as Scott Porter takes his side to Crawley Down.
The defender (pictured) arrives with a good pedigree having played for Maidstone and Sittingbourne in Ryman League, Division 1 South and will slot in at centre-half on Saturday, enabling Pat Kingwell to answer an emergency call up front.
Jimmy Dryden and Craig Thompson are both suspended and with Brendon Cass still a month away from a return following a broken foot, Town were looking light up front with just Richard Sinden to call on.
Manager Porter was delighted to capture Reeves and revealed it wasn’t the first time he has tried to sign the centre-back.
He said: "We tried to get him in the summer but he chose to go to Maidstone.
"He talks a lot and is experienced and when we played against them earlier in the season, he was quality."
Reeves is unlikely to be the last signing as Porter looks to offset the departure of Lee Winfield, who has decided to take a break from the game.
The Town boss is in talks with a midfielder and hopes to announce his signing early next week.
