A head teacher has been branded “inspirational” by government inspectors in his school’s first full Ofsted report.

John McParland, principal of The John Wallis Academy, was praised for his work at the school in the Ofsted report.

It is the first full inspection carried out since the academy was formed from its predecessor, the Christ Church School.

And although the school in Millbank Road, Kingsnorth received a “good” rather than the higher “outstanding” rating, inspectors were impressed with the rapid improvements made since it opened four years ago.

The report said: “The inspirational principal has an ambitious vision of continual improvement for the academy. He is ably supported by his senior team, his staff and the governors."

The John Wallis Academy opened in 2010, and a sixth form was added in 2011.
