Jockeys' plans for two Easter point to point meetings at Charing and Aldington will depend on the ground conditions

Nick Pearce leads the jockeys’ championship heading into the weekend’s Easter point-to-point meetings at Charing on Saturday and Aldington on Monday.

With everyone’s plans for the meetings depending on ground conditions, many horses have been double-entered across the two cards.

Pearce (pictured) is keeping his cards close to his chest but his nearest rival, Will Hickman, is looking forward to riding the awkward Johncan in the opener at Charing on Saturday, with Mr Maybe in the Restricted and possibly Marge Ana in the Maiden.

And on Monday, Hickman will be hoping that Man From Moscow can achieve a repeat win in Aldington’s Men’s Open after a heroic win at Penshurst two weeks ago.

Philip Hall, third in the title race, has three entered for Aldington – Broughton Green in the Open, Adept Approach in the Club Members and Star Gift in the Restricted.

The first race at both meetings will be at 2pm, and pony racing will precede the point-to-point racing on both days.
