Leon Camier had a weekend to forget during round three of the World Superbike Championship at Assen in Holland.

Camier slid out of a re-started race one and then brought the Crescent FIXI Suzuki home in 14th in race two.

The Ashford rider (pictured) lined up 12th on the grid but was plagued by tyre problems throughout.

The rear tyre on Camier's bike was shredded nine laps into the opening race but heavy rain halted proceedings.

When it was started afresh, despite switching to wets, he slid off in the warm-up.

The re-started first race was competed over nine laps and was won by Sylvain Guintoli.

A gamble had to be made for race two as the weather conditions remained unpredictable and the track was still damp.

Camier chose intermediates but struggled on a drying circuit, eventually finishing a lap behind fellow Brit and race winner Jonathan Rea.
