There are reports of heavy traffic in the area and Stagecoach has said it is presently unable to take passengers between Ruckinge and Bilsington.

In a statement posted on X, the transport company added, until further notice, the 11A service “will divert via the A2070 between Hamstreet and Newchurch”.

A police spokesman said: “Kent Police was made aware of an incident involving a lorry and a tree on the B2067 at 8.18am.

“The incident was attended by the Kent Highways and there was no police requirement.”
