Altercation on Repton Park estate in Ashford sees man arrested and another taken to hospital

A fight broke out at a parade of shops and saw one man taken to hospital.

The incident happened at the entrance to the Spar supermarket, opposite Waitrose, on Repton Park in Ashford.

It is believed two men were involved in the altercation shortly after 2pm on Sunday.

Police and paramedics attended the scene and arrested a man in his 20s on suspicion of multiple offences.

A police spokeswoman said: “Officers attended where they located one man who had been assaulted.

“He was treated for his injuries at a hospital.

“A 25-year-old man from Ashford was arrested on suspicion of assault, possession of a bladed article and possession of a controlled drug (cannabis).”

The suspect has since been released on bail while inquiries continue.

One witness said five police cars were called to the scene.
