Man assaulted at Folkestone railway crossing

A man has been left with a black eye and a chipped tooth after being attacked near a railway crossing at Folkestone.

The 50-year-old man was walking along Tram Road, near to the pedestrian crossing, when the assault took place at around 9pm on Saturday, January 5.

Police said the victim remembered very little of the attack but believes two men were involved.

After the assault he was taken to the William Harvey Hospital where he received stitches for a cut to his lip .

He also suffered significant swelling and bruising to his left eye and a chipped tooth.

One of the offenders is thought to have been wearing a white jumper.
