Officers are on the hunt for a man who assaulted a woman in Canterbury Road, Ashford, before stealing her handbag

Police are appealing for information after an Ashford thief kicked a woman in the face before making off with her handbag.

Police have released an e-fit image of a man in connection with a robbery in Ashford

A 46-year-old woman was walking along Canterbury Road in the early hours of the morning when a man approached her from behind and grabbed her bag.

The woman refused to let go and was dragged to the ground by the man. He then kicked her in the face and she released her grip and he ran off with the bag.

The attack took place between 6.15am and 6.20am on Monday, October 21.

Police have now released an efit of the man and are appealing for help to identify him.
