Robbery in Jemmett Road, Ashford, as man grabbed around neck in daylight attack

An investigation has been launched after a man was "grabbed around the neck" and robbed in broad daylight.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the attack in Jemmett Road in Ashford.

The victim, a man in his 20s, was walking alone and turned into a footpath joining the road.

He was reportedly grabbed around the neck from behind by a man who demanded money between midday and 1pm on Monday, June 6.

The victim handed over money and felt a blow to the head before turning and seeing a group of four black men running away.

All of the group were reportedly wearing black hooded tops and black jeans or tracksuit bottoms.

The man who demanded the money was described as having a deep voice.

The victim was not injured.
