A man's body was discovered in an Ashford home earlier today.

Emergency crews rushed to New Town Green at 8.38am but the man, who was in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police and paramedics attended following 'concerns for his welfare.'

A police spokesman said: "Officers and SECAmb attended and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

"Next of kin have been informed. We are not treating the death as suspicious and the coroner has been informed."

A SECAmb spokesman also confirmed paramedics were called to the private address this morning.

A neighbour, who asked not to be named, said: "There were at least 15 emergency vehicles parked near the post office, in both car parks, including police and ambulance - more police than I have ever seen in my life.

"May the poor man rest in peace."
