A biker badly hurt in a crash in Sellindge yesterday was taken to a London hospital for treatment.

The A20 was closed in both directions after the collision between the motorbike and a car.

Police closed the road after the incident, which happened around 4.15pm. It happened just after the junction with Swan Lane, near the traffic lights under the M20 bridge.

A police spokeswoman said: "Kent Police was called at 4.19pm on Saturday 7 April to reports of a collision between a car and a motorbike the A20, Sellindge.

"Officers and South East Coast Ambulance Service attended the scene where the rider of the motorbike was treated for injuries described as serious. He was taken to a London hospital for further medical attention."
