Three people rescued from A28 pile-up near Wye by Kent Fire and Rescue Service crews

Three passengers trapped in their vehicles after a pile-up have been freed by firefighters.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to the scene on the A28, near Wye, at about 12.35pm, accompanied by Kent Police.

They worked for just over an hour to free two men and one woman from the vehicles involved in the crash.

The ambulance service sent three crews to the scene and the air ambulance was also in attendance.

A woman was airlifted to King's College Hospital in London.

Both men, one in his 50s complaining of abdominal pain, were taken by land ambulance to the William Harvey in Ashford.
