Mystery device parachuted into garden in Meadow Road, Ashford

A woman has been left baffled after a mystery device landed in her garden via parachute.

Sue May, of Meadow Road, said she discovered the white box near her hedge this morning.

She said the device had a red parachute attached to it and what looked like a tracking device.

Several readers have contacted us to say they believe this is a weather balloon tracking device designed to measure wind speed and other factors.

Justin Wilkinson said: "It's official name is a radiosonde."
