An overturned car sparked an emergency response and the closure of a main road.

Police, fire and ambulance crews attended the accident at 7am today in Ashford Road, Hamstreet, near Ashford.

The road was shut while emergency services worked at the scene, with firefighters leaving at 7.22am.

A spokesperson for the ambulance service said one person was assessed and treated at the scene before being taken to the William Harvey Hospital.

The police have also been contacted for comment.
