An overturned car sparked an emergency response and the closure of a main road.

Police, fire and ambulance crews attended the accident at 7am yesterday (September in Ashford Road, Hamstreet, near Ashford.

The road was shut while emergency services worked at the scene, with firefighters leaving at 7.22am.

A man was assessed and treated at the scene before being taken to the William Harvey Hospital.

The road was reopened at around 8am.
