Domino's rider hit by car in Ashford

A Domino's pizza delivery rider was knocked off his scooter after being hit by a car near a town centre.

The incident, which happened in Hardinge Road in Ashford, caused significant damage to the front bumper of the car involved.

The rider was unhurt, but went to hospital as a precaution following the incident.

It happened at about 6.30pm yesterday evening.

An eye-witness said: "I walked past Hardinge Road and a Domino's delivery bike was in the middle of the road.

"There was also a car in the middle of the road which had significant damage to the front bumper.

"It looked as if the delivery rider had been knocked off his bike."

Police were called to the scene following the incident.

A Domino's spokeswoman said: "One of our colleagues was involved in a small collision with a car which knocked him off his bike.

"We are pleased to confirm our team member was unharmed, however he visited hospital as a precaution.

"The driver of the car has also been in touch with our team to help put things right."
