Police appeal after store robbery

A SHOP worker was taken to hospital following a robbery on Monday.

The incident took place at Staples UK at the Warren Retail Park in Ashford between 8.30pm and around 9.10pm.

Cash was stolen from the store on Simon Weil Avenue, and the employee was threatened by the two male offenders, although he did managed to call 999.

After police officers arrives he was taken to the William Harvey Hospital in the town with minor injuries.

An L reg green Ford Escort was also taken from the scene, but that was later recoved in Malvern Road.

The first offender is described as a white man, aged between 20 and 21, 5ft3ins tall and of slim build. He was clean-shaven, spoke with a southern accent and was wearing a blue hooded top with no logos and dark trousers.

The second man is described as 5ft5ins tall, aged between 20 and 22 and of medium build.

Police are appealing for information and believe anyone using the nearby Sainsbury's petrol station at the time may have seen or heard something suspicious.
