One lane of the M20 was closed after a crash involving a lorry and a car this afternoon.

Emergency services were called to the scene following the crash on the coastbound carriageway between Junction 9, for A20 Fougeres Way, and Junction10, for A292 Hythe Road, near Ashford.

The crash happened at about 5pm and Highways England said the vehicles involved were moved to the hard shoulder, and all lanes were open by 5.45pm.

Police said the incident briefly caused an obstruction but that the scene is now clear, and no injuries have been reported.
