Police dog Elsa sniffs out suspected burglar in William Hill in Court Wurtin, Ashford

A suspected burglar has been arrested after a police dog helped track him down inside a bookmakers.

It came after police were called to a reported break-in at a business in Beaver Lane in Ashford at about 12.30am.

Officers attended along with a dog handler and police dog Elsa.

They found a door at the premises had been damaged.

Following a search by Elsa, a man was arrested on suspicion of burglary at William Hill in Court Wurtin.

The 29-year-old from south London remains in custody while inquiries continue.
