An image of a car believed to have been used by two armed robbers has been released by Kent Police.

The silver Peugeot 307 is thought to have been used by two armed robbers who raided Aldington Post Office in Roman Road, Aldington, on Tuesday.

The wrecked car was found abandoned in the Burmarsh area shortly after 2pm on the day of the robbery.

Two men were seen carrying an orange bag running towards Dymchurch about the same time.

The robbery took place at 1.30pm when two men demanded cash, threatening staff with a handgun and a crow bar.

No one was injured.

The men left with cash in an orange bag and used the Peugeot to get away from Aldington.

The suspects are white men with a slim build.

One was 5ft 8in tall, the other slightly taller at 5ft 10in.

Both were wearing hooded tops and grey face masks at the time of the robbery but were later seen wearing tracksuits, one grey and one navy.

Yesterday, KentOnline revealed how a plucky horserider chased the bandits across a field as the robbers fled.

Police would like to hear from anyone who saw the Peugeot prior to, or just after the robbery, or anyone with information about it that might help their investigation.
