Police have uncovered a huge cannabis operation at a detached house in a residential street.

Up to 150 plants are thought to have been found at the property in Oakfield Road, Kennington, this afternoon.

Neighbours said the garden had become overgrown recently and suspicious cars had been spotted in the dead-end close, part of which runs alongside the A28 Canterbury Road.

UK Power Network vans were parked in the street this afternoon and contractors were working in the property's garden.

Officers arrived in three police vans and were seen clearing the house at about 6pm.

Stacks of plant pots were removed from the property, which has been raided previously when a similar cannabis operation was uncovered.

On Wednesday, raids in Kent and across the south east resulted in a £100,000 sports car, about £40,000 cash and hundreds of cannabis plants being seized as part of an investigation into a suspected organised crime group.
