People desperate to get hold of the latest iPhone queued outside an Ashford phone shop this morning waiting for it to open.

By 8am a 20-deep queue had formed in front of the O2 shop in the High Street.

They were people who couldn't wait to pick up a new iPhone 4S - the latest model of the phone from Apple which went on sale today (Friday).

A member of the Kentish Express staff who visited the shop said it was packed with customers when he went there at 9.30am.
