A main road has been partially blocked in both directions after a car is believed to have crashed into a tree.

The incident is thought to have occurred just before 6am this morning along the A251 Faversham Road in Challock, Ashford.

Traffic has been slowed as a result between the two junctions with Peston Lane.

The road was reportedly closed for about 45 minutes after the crash and larger vehicles are still advised to find alternative routes.

Emergency services are at the scene.
