Road closures for Givaudan Ashford 10k road race

Several roads will be closed for a 10k race this weekend.

The annual Givaudan Ashford 10k road race will take place tomorrow (Sunday, October 9) from 9.30am and is one of the few fully road closed events in Kent.

The short term closures will run from 8.50am to 11.10am, with roads closed on a rolling basis as the race progresses.

The race will start and finish at the Julie Rose Athletics Stadium and the first road to be affected will be the A2070.

Participants will begin running from the stadium and onto Kennington Road. They will then head towards Willesborough Road meaning these routes will be off limits to drivers.

Part of the A28 will also be closed as runners will continue the race on Canterbury Road.

Junctions between Willesborough Road and The Street, and junctions between The Street and Upper Vicarage Road will close.

The whole of Ulley Road will be closed as well as Faversham Road.

The following junctions will be affected by the road race:

Near the end of the race, Hythe Road will close and the junctions between Mace Lane and Lees Road will be off limits to drivers, as well as between the junctions of Hythe Road and Lees Road.

As runner make their way back to the Julie Rose Stadium Kennington Road will be out of action to drivers and between the junctions of Silver Hill Road and Willesborough Road.
